Description
This is a sparkling attic mint early American 3 pc mold blown pontiled flint glass decanter from the 1810-1830 era with its original matching Diamond pattern hollow blown glass stopper! This early New England flint glass decanter was most likely made at either the Keene Marlboro St Glassworks or the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. It is listed as McKearin GII-18 in "American Glass". This wonderful crude blown decanter has diamond quilted pattern with ribbed base and shoulder.......wonderful triple ring crude applied bands around neck with impressed decorations ...... Hand blown in 3 piece mold....early rough pontil scar on bottom....wide flared ring lip....clear flint glass....8"tall (10 1/4"counting stopper)......The original hollow blown stopper has matching diamond quilted & ribs pattern with a sunburst on very top....perfect condition. Decanter is also sparkling attic mint condition with no chips or damage of any kind. Sparkling clean with no haze.... About the finest possible example you will find!It came from an old New England collection, and from my own personal collection
