    SERVICING INFORMATION
HOOD LOCK: To open the hood, reach under hood front moulding, Just right of the center as you face car and pull lever
forward. Pull lever upward and towards you to unlock and open the hood. The first part of the lever's movement releases the
primary lock. Pulling the lever to the limit of its travel opens the safety catch. With the lever in this position the hood can be
raised and will be held open by counterbalance springs.
BATTERY: Location - Under hood, right side. Size - 12 volts, 66 plate, 70 ampere hour. Negative terminal grounded.
RADIATOR DRAIN: Drain cock at bottom of left rear corner, reached from under hood.
BLOCK DRAIN: Drain plug in each side of block, near center. Transmission oil cooler ia in the lower radiator tank.
RADIATOR CAP: Valve in cap set to open at 12 to 15 pounds pressure. Before removing radiator cap turn it counterclockwise
until slight stop is reached to allow any pressure in the system to escape through the overflow before the cap is removed.
The cap must always be turned down tightly to maintain the correct pressure. Coolant should be 2" below top of filler neck
    when engine is cold.
A thermostatically controlled fan is on cars equipped with air conditioning. When air temperature does not necessitate
full use of the fan for engine cooling, the clutch will partially disengage the fan, limiting its maximum speed and reducing the
    noise level.
GAS TANK FILLER: FIIler cap behind door in rear grille, directly below trunk lock. Press on right side of door to open it.
The information contained in this Mobilubrication Bulletin is based on latest ad-
vice received direct from the factories. As in previous years, changes in design
may be made in the manufacturers' later production.

    LUBRICATION SERVICE INFORMATION
Figures and numerals printed in italics and enclosed in parenthesia, an (D.1), re fer
to illustrations and descriptions appearing on the Mobilubrication Disc Chart which
    are applicable to 1960 construction.
HYDRA-MATIC DRIVE (D-3): Check fluid le vel every 1000 miles. To make thin check, set hand brake le ver tightly, move
selector lever to "N" or "pª and run engine equivalent to 20 mph for 1% minutes. Dipstick and filler hole are on right nide
and can be reached from under hood. Remove all dirt from around dipstick. Reduce engine speed to slow idle and remove
dipstick. Fluid level should be at "F" mark on dipstick. At normal temperature, 1 pint of fluid will raise level from low
mark (bottom dimple) to the "F" mark. Use Mobilfluid 200 when additional fluid is needed.
Drain and refill the housing every 15,000 miles or once a year. The factory recommends draining every 12,000 miles
or 1 year intervals. For cars in commercial use, or those subjected to heavy city traffic during hot weather, or when the
engine is idled for prolonged periods, changes should not exceed 12,000 miles. Replace strainer every second fluid change.
See Mobilubrication Bulletin "Correct Lubrication for Automatic and Semi-Automatic Transmissions" for complete
    and approved instructions.
REAR AXLE (HYPOID GEARS) (D-6): Check lubricant level every 1000 miles. Add lubricant as required to bring level to
filler plug hole. Drain and refill every 10,000 miles. Never steam clean or use kerosine or solvents to flush housing.
Fill er Opening and Level Gauge: Plug in rear of housing.
Drain: No drain plug. Use suction gun through filler opening.
AIR CLEANER (K-2): - Paper element type standard. Inspect element every 5000 miles to see that it is properly seated
and that there are no indications of dust leakage. The element should not be washed, oiled, tapped or blown out with an air
hose. Replace element used with the triple carburetor every 10,000 miles. Replace element used with the 4-barrel carburetor
    every 20,000 miles.
AIR SPRINGS: Optional. When equipped with air springs, a line from the carburetor air cleaner carries air to the compressor.
Compressor is lubricated from engine. A petcock at the bottom of the air reservoir tank, mounted ahead of the radiator should
be opened e very 1000 miles to drain out any dirt or moisture. Service and drain valves are combined. First remove air through
service valve and then remove valve to drain. In an emergency, air can be added to the suspension system at a gasoline
station. The valve for this purpose is located on the bottom of reserve air tank, forward and to the left of the radiator.
HYDRO-LECTRIC CONTROL: - Convertibles and Eldorado, sealed system. No service required except when repaired or
    replaced.
DISTRIBUTOR: (E-1) – Fill tube on distributor with Mobiloil 10W every 1000 miles.
WINDOW AND FRONT SEAT CONTROLS (6-WAY): Operated by electric motors.
POWER STEERING: (K-3) - Every 1000 miles remove reservoir filler cap and check fluid level. With fluid warm, level should
be at mark on reservoir, or 1-1/2" from top of reservoir neck. Use Mobilfluid 200. Check for leaks at filler cap.
CRANKCASE VENTILATOR: An air cleaner element is in the filler cap. Wash it in Sovasol No. 5 every 1000 miles. Oil
with Mobiloil A before assembling it on engine.
POWER BRAKES: Standard on all models. CAUTION - As a safety precaution, never work on the car with the engine running
and the car in gear without disconnecting the parking brake vaCuum hose. To accomplish this, simply pull the vacuum supply
hose from the right hand connection of the vacuum switch on the neutral safety switch and then cover the switch opening
    with tape.
OIL FILTER (K-1) – Full flow type. Replace filter, reached from underneath the car, every 5000 miles.
    AIR CONDITIONING - Optional.
