    Description

Antique Hand Blown Green Glass Wine Bottle. Early 1800’s. Approximately 11.5” tall. About 3.75” in diameter at the widest ‘chest’. About 3.5” at the bottom. Heavy, thick, green glass. Non symmetrical. Weighs 1lb, 5 oz. It has about 200 years of coral scaling partially covering the inside. The outside cleaned up nicely with dish detergent and a soft scrub.
While on vacation 20 years ago in St. Vincent, our dive instructor recovered it off the coast of Fort Duvernette, built around 1790. The fort once protected a chief port of St. Vincent. See last photo. The Fort is a 190 ft. tall volcanic plug which sticks out of the sea on the windward side of St. Vincent.
