    1920s-30s C. F. Sauer Co. Richmond Virginia Wood Extract Box Thermometer. The C. F. Sauer Company was established in 1887 and is famous for Dukes Mayonnaise, extracts and spiced. The company was still family owned and operated until recently.

    The wooden 3 dimensional painted sign graphic is patterned after a C. F. Sauer Co. Vanilla extract box and has a copyright date of 1918. The thermometer is still working. The painted graphic has chipped off in some areas and has some chipping on going. Measures inches 22 tall x 8 1/16 inches wide x 3/4 inch thick. It has a hole at top and bottom to hang it.
    Dorman Brothers was making these wooden advertising thermometers in the 1920s and 1930s.
