Up for sale is a very nice George Gehrke fly reel. This reel is in near excellent shape and it looks unfished. The gold finish is clean, and it is free of any imperfections. Please note, when reeling, this reel has a very slight rub. It doesn't really affect the performance of the reel, but if you listen closely, you can hear it. I don't see any bends or nicks, so I am guessing it was made like this. Aside from that, this reel has a strong drag, and it works as it should. The spool has a diameter of 3 3/8” and this reel has a total width of 1 9/16”. Would be best suitable for 7-9wt fly lines and is setup for right hand retrieve. in the box. All reels and lures are shipped in sturdy boxes. Rods are shipped in USPS triangular shaped tubes, regular cardboard tubes, or PVC tube.
I will not use a rod tube or box that feels weak.
