  • Condition: This very rare original advertisement is in very good vintage condition, with vibrant colors, white margins, no noticeable wear in the image area and a wonderful image, as the ad was protected inside a bound volume of vintage Collier's magazines since it was printed. There are two unobtrusive binder holes on the right margin, outside of the image area. See attached pictures for details as part of condition description..

    Description

    N C Wyeth created this very rare and original advertisement for Cream of Wheat, an ad image of a cowboy broncho buster at a Cream of Wheat rodeo, that first appeared in Collier's in1907.  This is one of  Wyeth's most important advertising images, and was an ad image appearing for many years in many publications.  This ad can be seen as a companion western/cowboy image ad for Wyeth's Cream of Wheat rural mail box ad that was also was published in 1907.  Wyeth had been actively making a name for himself as an illustrator of stories of the west in popular magazines of the day.  Cream of Wheat, as a very popular breakfast cereal of the time, was a major weekly advertiser in both Collier's and The Saturday Evening Post.  The importance that Cream of Wheat gave to Wyeth's advertising images is seen by Cream of Wheat having this ad printed as a multi color full page ad, an expensive printing job for the time.  This ad would be an a nice addition for
    a  Wyeth and or Cream of Wheat ad collector.  This ad's dimensions are 10.75" x 15".  The ad would look wonderful framed.
    The ad is protected in an archival print sleeve, protected by stiff shipping materials and will be shipped using USPS First Class Mail.
