    Description

Rare The Washingtonian Magazine Art Cover by Russell dated April 1929
Rare The Washingtonian Magazine Of The National Capital
    (formerly the Mayflower Log)
    Dated April 1929
Published monthly by Marion Banister for The Mayflower Log Corporation
The cover of this magazine was signed by Russell.
PLEASE NOTE: There is another Washingtonian magazine that was founded in 1965, and there are issues on ebay of this later magazine. However, the magazines I am putting in are the original ones from the 1920s and 1930s.
I contacted the Washingtonian magazine with the recent issues that you see on the newsstands now. That magazine again, was founded in 1965, and has nothing to do with the magazines I have. The ones I am putting in are the original rare ones.
Also.. I have contacted someone from the Historical Society of Washington D.C. and she did some research for me. Basically, these magazines are very rare, and they rarely held copies of them. The person I spoke to stated "As for the magazine itself, we do not hold any copies of it in our collections, and it has been overshadowed by the current Washingtonian Magazine, published since the mid-1960's"
Please view my current and future auctions.
In some of the earlier issues of The Washingtonian (which I also have) they say on the cover: Formerly the Mayflower Log. Both of these magazines were published by and for the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D.C. so perhaps that is why it is hard to find a lot of back issues compared to the regular magazines.
Has no mailing label. It does have a library stamp dated April 8, 1929
