    Description

SOUTH CAROLINA DISPENSARY TREE QUART. MADE BY ILLINOIS GLASS COMPANY!.
From 1897 to 1899 Illinois Glass Company supplied the S.C. Dispensary with 22 carloads of a clear round quart, palmetto-tree Dispensary bottles. These bottles carry the company’s trademark on their base, a diamond with the initials, “I.G. Co.” inside it.
THIS PARTICULAR BOTTLE WAS FOUND IN MURRELLS INLET SC. THROWING A CAST NET FOR BAIT, THIS BEAUTY FOUND ITS WAY IN THE NET. I HAVE USED SOAP AND WATER TO CLEAN IT, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED OR TUMBLED. I’LL LEAVE THAT UP TO THE BUYER. THERE IS A PLACE THAT LOOKS LIKE A CHIP, BUT ITS ONLY WHERE AN OYSTER ATTACHED TO THE BOTTLE. WITH A LITTLE TLC IT SHOULD COME OFF. UNLESS YOU WANT TO LEAVE IT ON FOR THE PATINA. THE OCEAN WATER HAS LEFT IT WITH A REALLY NICE AQUA GREEN COLOR. LET THE BIDDING BEGIN, AND GOOD LUCK!
