Valentine 83 Single Action Fly Reel

This is the classic “Pflueger Medalist on steroids” in very good shape. There are only a couple of minor scuffs on the outside, and mechanically it’s perfect. Valentine stopped making them years ago, but they still service them with parts. These reels are getting more and more difficult to find—particularly in the smaller sizes. I’ve used this reel only a few times. I really love it, but I don’t use it enough to justify keeping it. I’d like to see it go to someone who’ll use it regularly. This reel is set up for right-hand retrieve. It’s the perfect trout reel, but I have no doubts it would be great for light saltwater use. Will take a 5- or 6-weight line. The line shown on the reel does not come with it—I’m keeping it. I’ll mail only within the United states. If you don’t have a US mailing address, please don’t buy it. Thanks for looking.
